Glenn Vaad has become the newest member of the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.
Vaad, a former state representative from Mead, was sworn in before an administrative law judge on Wednesday. He was nominated in December to a three-year term by Gov. John Hickenlooper.
Vaad replaces James K. Tarpey, who announced in November his intention to resign from the commission as of Jan. 6.
