Broomfield voters have approved a ban on hydraulic fracturing by a razor-thin margin of 17 votes out of 20,683 cast, according to the latest tallies by city officials.
But the margin is so narrow that a recount is mandatory, according to the city.
That's a switch from the unofficial results posted after the elections ended Nov. 5, which showed the measure losing by about 13 votes. The ballot question called for a five-year moratorium on fracking.
