A few big storm systems during the waning weeks of 2014 boosted Colorado's snowpack totals to 99 percent of the median as of Jan. 1.
That's according to the Natural Resources Conservation Service, which tracks the depth of the mountain snow — the main source of the state's water.
"The statewide snowpack is right where it needs to be for this time of year," said Brian Domonkos, snow survey supervisor with the conservation service.
