Kiewit-Turner, the construction consortium in charge of building a new hospital in Aurora for the Department of Veterans Affairs, said Tuesday it would cease all work on the more than $1 billion project after a ruling in Washington, D.C. that the VA was in breach of contract on the project.
The announcement followed a decision Tuesday by the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals (CBCA) that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is in material breach of its contract with Kiewit-Turner.
