Xcel Energy Inc. will buy power from a 50-megawatt solar power plant to be built in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, according to a deal it’s signed with SunPower Corp.
Xcel (NYSE: XEL) is Colorado’s biggest utility. SunPower (NASDAQ: SPWR) is based in San Jose, Calif., has offices around the world and focuses on solar power systems for residential, business, government and utility customers.
