Cool Planet Energy Systems Inc., a biofuel company, broke ground on the company's first commercial facility — dubbed Project Genesis — in Alexandria, La.
The Denver-based company, which is backed by Google, BP and a consortium including General Electric, ConocoPhillips, NRG Energy, announced in August that it would invest $168 million to build the company's first three bio-refineries. All of the refineries will be built in Louisiana, the company said.
