Last year started slowly for the U.S. wind industry, with just a single 1.6 megawatt wind turbine installed in the entire country during the first six months of 2013.
But it ended on a high note, with more than 12,000 megawatts of new wind farms under construction at the end of 2013, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), an industry trade group.
