Power plants fueled by natural gas release about 40 percent less carbon dioxide than coal-fired plants, according to a new analysis from scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The NOAA scientists' study was accepted for publication in the Jan. 8 in “Earth’s Future,” a journal of the American Geophysical Union.
