The argument over fracking in a handful of Colorado cities has taken a legal turn, with three lawsuits filed over bans on the use of hydraulic fracturing that three Front Range cities approved this fall.
The three suits — involving Fort Collins, Lafayette and Broomfield — were filed Tuesday, according to the groups involved.
So far, it appears that no legal action has been taken against the city of Boulder, where voters extended an existing moratorium on oil and gas exploration for five years.
