The birth of traffic safety company Colorado Barricade Co. LLC as a new, locally owned Denver-based firm started over a Friday-evening beer.
That Friday morning, May 17, Houston-based Highway Technologies Inc. had shut down its Denver operations. It was just one of the 32 operations in 13 states,that were shut down, including the termination of 740 employees, before the company formally filed for Chapter 11 reorganization on May 22 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.
