A controversial bill that sought to rewrite the mission of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission died Wedesday at its first hearing in the state Senate.
The vote Wednesday on HB-1071 was 3-8, with the Republicans on the Senate Agriculture, Natural Resources & Energy Committee being joined by two Democrats on the committee, Sen. Leroy Garcia, from Pueblo, and Sen. Kerry Donovan, from Vail, who also voted against the bill.
