Xcel Energy Inc. is trimming natural gas bills in Colorado by about $20 million a year due to the new federal tax reform law, which cut corporate taxes from 35 percent to 21 percent.
Xcel (Nasdaq: XEL), which has nearly 1.4 million natural gas customers in the state, last year asked the Colorado Public Utilities Commission to approve a $139 million increase in natural gas rates spread over three years.
