Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper today called for a mix of voluntary efforts by the oil and gas industry coupled with new laws to be passed by the Legislature to help ward off future disasters like April's deadly home explosion in Weld County that was caused by a leaking natural gas pipeline.
Hickenlooper, in his office at the state Capitol, also called for the state to impose new regulations. The goal, he said, is make communities and workplaces safer.
