Gov. John Hickenlooper on Wednesday said he expects there will be “a very rich discussion” of whether the state should create buffer zones that ensure new homes are not built too close to existing oil and gas wells.
His comments are an indication that the effects of a fatal home explosion in Firestone could ripple far beyond the state’s oil and gas industry.
