A bill focused on the controversial process of “forced pooling” of mineral rights in Colorado’s oil and gas fields passed the state House of Representatives on Wednesday by a vote of 36-29.
Of the chamber’s 37 Democrats, 36 voted yes on House Bill 1336. All of the chamber’s Republicans and Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp, D-Arvada, voted no.
HB 1336, “Additional Protections Forced Pooling Order,” was sponsored by state Reps. Mike Foote, D- Lafayette, and Dave Young, D-Greeley.
