The sky was dark and Denver’s streets were quiet at 6:15 a.m. one Saturday in early February as I pulled into a parking garage across the street from Denver Union Station.
Inside the station, though, it was a different story.
The line of customers at the PigTrain Coffee shop spilled out into the renovated lobby of the old train station. A group in ski jackets gathered in front of the Terminal Bar.
People in boots clumped by, heading for the doors to the tracks and carrying skis, poles and boards.
