Colorado environmental advocates aren’t sweating a federal mandate to cut the state’s carbon dioxide emissions by 40 percent by 2030, compared to 2012 levels.
The state is about 75 percent toward the 2030 goal, based on actions already taken and programs implemented and expected, according to John Nielsen, the clean energy program director for Western Resource Advocates, a Boulder-based environmental advocacy and policy group.
